Her Majesty the Queen accompanied by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh visited Goldy's Farm Shop, Lytchett Matravers, Dorset (BH16 6ER) and to mark the opening of the Energy Centre, 11 June 2009.

Just weeks before there had been a nasty fire at the farm shop resulting in the loss of the roof. It took six fire engines to regain control of the site.

In welcoming the Royal guests, Jenny Goldsack said 'I am so proud and honoured to have the Queen open Goldy's Energy Centre today. Some of you will know that we had a major fire here on 11 May and I would like, first, to pay tribute to the team here, called Goldy's Gang. They're actually the Golden Gang. They, and our builders, our landlords and everyone else has worked so hard to rebuild the farm shop over the past month. 
When we started Goldy's Farm Shop, Harry and I had a dream for Goldy's be to be a centre of excellence, bringing together food, farming and technology. We want people to know that we can produce clean food, growing without the use of fossil fuels. Goldy's Energy Centre will show a way forward for all of us.'

The Energy Centre is housed in a building facing the Goldy's courtyard. It exhibits some of the latest green energy technology.

Goldy's Farm Shop is the winner of the FARMA Environmental Award 2008.
